The 1975 and Greta Thunberg release the soundtrack to the planet being too hot

The 1975 just dropped the first track from ‘Notes on a Conditional Form’.

Is it a coincidence that The 1975 just dropped their first track from NOACF on the hottest day of the year so far? Probably not.

The opening song to the band’s new album is a recorded essay about climate change from the Swedish activist, Greta Thunberg.

Listen to the brand new, emotionally-charged piece below.

“We are right now at the beginning of a climate and ecological crisis. And we need to call it what it is: an emergency.”

This is exactly what we needed today, and every day.

In other The 1975 news, the new era is well and truly upon us. Their recent social media posts have been deactivated and their website is counting down to 7:30pm on Thursday, 22nd August. It’s looking likely that we’ll get another new track then called ‘People’, which Matty teased some lyrics to earlier this year.

The 1975 bring their political message and fingers crossed, brand new material(!) to the Main Stage at this year’s Reading Festival.

Tickets to Reading and now sold out, but you can still get your butts up to Leeds to witness The 1975 and more do their thing.
