All in orange and hungry to perform to Friday evening’s Reading Festival-goers, Compton native Kendrick Lamar blew us away with his headline debut on the Main Stage.

The Grammy Award winner gave us an unforgettable and explosive hour set full to the brim with some of the best hip-hop anthems around. Kendrick’s raps are politically charged, but don’t worry – that didn’t mean his set was too heavy. He’s not one to take himself too seriously though, proven by clips of his own self-starring Japanese comic-style film making a regular appearance throughout his set.

Kung-Fu Kenny shook up his set list to feature a mix of older established classics such as ‘Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe’ and ‘Backstreet Freestyle’ with newer tunes from latest release ‘DAMN’ such as ‘HUMBLE’ and ‘DNA’ – all of which were equally as fiery.

Lamar fuses jazz and hip-hop to create a unique sound you can’t help but groove to. Every song he performs is with the same passion and wild-energy. If he continues what he’s been doing, I’m sure our ears will keep being blessed.
