It’s a surprise that Kate Nash has time to headline festivals anymore, given her new-found success as an actor in hit Netflix series GLOW.
Tonight her set opens with a nod to that new career as Jetta of Pro Wrestling EVE calls Kate Nash out on stage only to receive a powerslam for her troubles, all before a song is played!
If the crowd aren’t pumped enough after that, Kate ventures into the crowd straight away and then plays a full band rendition of big hit, ‘Mouthwash.’
This is followed up by ‘Doo Wah Do’ and it’s clear that Nash means business tonight, her intense vocals bringing to mind X Ray Spex.
Still, there’s one huge moment that stands out and that is with ‘Foundations’ which provokes unsurprisingly the biggest singalong of the set, all adopting Nash’s trademark London accent for the infamous “You said I must eat so many lemons, coz I am so bitttttaa” line. It’s one of those songs that you don’t need any encouragement to sing along to – making it the perfect song to close the set.
