A “dream come true” for Fall Out Boy to headline Reading’s Friday Main Stage

After playing the Main Stage at Reading six times before today, quartet punk-pop band Fall Out Boy finally graced us with their presence for their headline slot on Friday evening.

Opener ‘Thriller’ set the tone for the next hour and a half – a huge party filled with all your favourite tracks by one of rock music’s biggest bands. There were pumped-up anthems and enough pyrotechnics to write home to your mum about (Pete Wentz’s bass guitar even had fire coming out of it at one point). This set was full of classic belters sang out by lead singer Patrick Stump and all of them made us want to reminisce about our teenage years.

The sheer amount of tracks they’ve now released ensured they had plenty to choose from when picking their setlist. Popular choices included classic anthems ‘Sugar, We’re Goin Down’, ‘Thnks fr th Mmrs’ and ‘Dance, Dance.’ It’s difficult to pick a favourite though, as every song is played with as much energy as the other.

WIth a cracker of a light show and fireworks to top it off – this has been a hyped up performance which even exceeded expectations.
