Incredible scenes from DMA’s on the BBC Radio 1 Stage

Australian Britpop revival trio (turned six-piece on tour) DMA’s gave us all a well-deserved treat this Sunday afternoon with a smashing set filled with psychedelic guitar riffs, echoed choruses and twangs of 90s nostalgia.

Lead singer Tommy O’Dell showed off his great set of pipes with softer track ‘In the Air’ from their latest album ‘For Now.’ The setlist was jam-packed with fan-favourites from their debut ‘Hills End’ too, like opener ‘Play It Out’ and ‘Feels like 37.’ The crowd even erupted as soon as the iconic guitar riff for their first ever single ‘Delete’ was played out. It’s plain to see the Sydney band continue to go from strength to strength and I can’t wait to hear more records from them in the near future.

Tommy’s dreamy vocals provided the perfect soundtrack to multi-coloured flares everywhere you looked. Saving their Reading show for the last night of their ‘For Now’ tour, the band flawlessly rounded things off with a cracking performance on the BBC Radio 1 Stage attended by a tent full of already die-hard fans and those who are soon to be.
