Chapel Club’s darkly epic rock anthems quickly attracted attention when it was rumoured the band had signed a mega-bucks recording deal shortly after forming in 2008. With influences as varied as New Order and Scott Walker and lyrics inspired by the likes of Ted Hughes and Hemingway, they have been described by the Evening Standard as “the unlikely lovechild of Joy Division and My Bloody Valentine” and earned enthusiastic reviews for their first Top 40 album ‘Palace’ in 2011. With a follow up due this year, Chapel Club now seem certain to be heading straight for indie super-stardom.
Nice work Colchester Zoo, first you fail to keep wild animals caged up and now you shoot them dead. Nice work everyone involved.
So in love with The Smiths again
